Make Your Own Scrunchies!

What You Need:

​

An old tie
A pair of scissors
Fabric elastic
Sewing machine (helpful, but not needed)

Upcycle

 

 

Step 1:

​

Open up the fabric of the tie and cut a piece of the fabric with the dimensions of about 17 inches by 3 inches.

Step 3:

​

Next, flip the scrunchie right side out and sew the loose edge of the elastic to the opposing side of the scrunchie.

 

Step 2:

​

Sew the fabric along the long edge, make sure the fabric is inside out at this stage. Then sew a piece of elastic to one of the short edges of the fabric.

Tip: Works best if the elastic, when fully stretched, is slightly shorter than the tie fabric.

Step 4:

​

Lastly, hand stitch the tie fabric together to close the gap. And style with your favorite Gone West outfit.
